QLAC’s can facilitate the deferral of a portion of the account for RMD (Required Minimum Distribution) purposes until age 85. The QLAC sits at an uneasy intersection of estate planning and Elder Law. The seminar will help you gain insight how to plan so that an individual does not outlive their financial resources. The new and untested nature of QLAC’s and the potential ramifications from using QLAC’s in retirement and/or Medicaid planning will be highlighted, as well as the disposition of the balance of the QLAC upon the death of the account holder.
